Autonomous RS7 Now 400 kg Lighter

No stranger to speed and power, the Audi RS7 is a head-turner. Testing the next generation autonomous driving system, Audi utilized the blazingly quick RS7 as the test platform. When the concept was originally revealed and dubbed Bobby, it hit a top speed of 240 km/h during a driverless lap at the Hockenheim track in Germany.

The concept has recently seen an update where Audi managed to reduce the weight by 400 kg while still being powered by the same 552 HP and 516 lb-ft twin-turbo V8 engine. With increased performance and reliability of the autonomous driving systems, Audi plans to successfully implement the system in the next generation A8 due to come out in 2017.
